Practical application for substances and mixtures
Aimed at
Manufacturers/importers of substances/mixtures, downstream users including formulators and distributors, and end users of substances/mixtures.
Objectives
- By the end of the module, participants will be able to classify their company’s substances and mixtures using the new Classification and Labelling System (CLP).
- From the outset, the course will focus on practical case studies, starting with simpler substances and mixtures and progressing to those that are more complex and require the application of technical criteria for classification.
Contents
1. Introduction to GHS
Fundamentals of the Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals and its implementation in the European Union through the CLP Regulation.
2. Classification for physical hazards
Systematisation of the method for classifying chemical substances and mixtures with regard to physical hazards. Practical exercises.
3. Classification for human health hazards
Systematisation of the method for classifying chemical substances and mixtures with regard to hazards to human health. Practical exercises.
4. Classification for environmental hazards
Systematisation of the method for classifying chemical substances and mixtures with regard to environmental hazards. Practical exercises.
