At REACH Monitor, we are a consultancy specialised in toxicology with a highly qualified team, including toxicologists registered as European Registered Toxicologists (ERT), the highest certification standard in Europe.
More than 75% of our team holds doctorates in toxicology and related scientific fields. The remainder of our specialists are graduates in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology and Engineering, with specialised master's degrees and solid experience in chemical regulation and safety.
As part of our commitment to continuous learning, we regularly attend international toxicology symposia, seminars and conferences (such as ECB courses and the MC Kim conference), ensuring our team stays current with the latest scientific and regulatory advances.
Our passion for teaching and scientific outreach stems from more than 10 years of experience as lecturers at the University of Barcelona, training the next generation of toxicology experts.

Leadership and expertise in regulatory toxicology
Gemma Falcó Alay
Founder & CEO
Gemma Falcó holds a PhD in Toxicology from the University of Barcelona and has more than 20 years of experience in scientific research and environmental chemistry consulting.
From 2000, she served as associate professor in the Department of Public Health, Toxicology Unit at the University of Barcelona. In 2005, her work in knowledge transfer led her to become coordinator of the 10 leading technology transfer groups and environmental chemistry consultant at the same university.
Over a decade, she led toxicology research projects in collaboration with the Catalan Food Safety Agency (ACSA) and the World Health Organisation (WHO). She was the Catalan coordinator for the third round of the WHO exposure study on PCBs, PCDFs and PCDDs in human milk.
Her impact on the scientific community was recognised in 2009, when Elsevier awarded her the distinction of most-cited author for her publications. Since 2011, Dr Falcó has been a registered toxicologist with Eurotox.

Academic Origins
Our founding team were part of the Department of Public Health at the University of Barcelona and the scientific team of the Catalan Food Safety Agency (ACSA).
REACH Monitor Founded
REACH Monitor was established as a specialised toxicology consultancy in response to the implementation of the REACH Regulation in Europe.
Official QSAR Toolbox Trainer
REACH Monitor is designated as the sole official organiser of OECD QSAR Toolbox training worldwide, cementing our position as experts in alternative toxicological assessment methods.
CHESAR Development with ECHA
Our team joins the core development group for the CHESAR tool at the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).
Expansion into BPR Services
